If you have back links to the ones you are contemplating it would be useful.

What you want to appear for in a scanner is the native ppi or dpi (exact same factor). The larger the much better. I have a 1000 ppi scanner and I am happy with it. 2600 or much better is what you want though. If a ppi amount is the interpolated amount disregard it. That is just the computer guessing at pixels and it will not do a really great occupation.

The other issue to look for is the color depth. 24 bit is “true colour”. Anything significantly less will not render suitable colors. Anything much more, even though it’s just fine, probably won’t give significantly of an improvement.

Proposed 35mm film scanner?

Question by catpiss: Proposed 35mm film scanner?
I live here in Namba, Japan and I’m currently seeking for a very good 35mm film scanner that can also scan BW film strips. BicCamera has these compact film scanners (Kenko, Cabin, ScanBit, and so on.) that ranges from 9,000 to 20,000 Yen (113 – 252 USD) but I am not positive if they’re any great. Can you advise me great film scanners that I can acquire here in Japan? Or if there isn’t any, you can advise me designs outside Japan then I might just have them shipped here. You can also name designs that cannot scan BW strips, I will just possibly have them processed in a camera/film shop. Thank you!

I do not think you will be capable to employing the multipurpose unit you at present have. They generally need a unfavorable/slide adapter which holds the slides/negatives in a certain location on the scanning bed. Since of the need to scan with better detail , the units will also pinpoint this region employing the software package supplied with the scanner.all-in-one units.

You can have your negatives sent away to a producing place to have them scanned and turned into digital format.

You can also acquire a scanner which has the potential to scan slides. In fact some of these units could do a far better task of scanning negatives/slides because they could have better resolution. dependent on which unit you select. But make sure the scanner has the adapter.

HP C7180 all in one unit in their existing line comes with the adverse/slide adapter already built in.
Two older models are the Photosmart 3310 & 3210 which is a single I am at present using.

Have fun….. Very good luck….
