Well, a desktop flatbed unfavorable scanner has a light in the lid, to supply a backlight for the negatives. So ANY negative scanner will display the 35mm film holes IF and only IF you do not use the damaging holder to scan with. You see.. the tiny holder that comes with a adverse scanner addresses these holes.
So, really. Just discover a flatbed scanner that also does negatives, at a cost you like, and don’t scan the negatives with the holder it comes with.

a negative scanner. None of the flatbed scanners actually do a really very good job of scanning semitransparent materials like film negatives, nor for that matter does and hand helds, your far better off obtaining a challenging copy of the negatives onto a proof sheet. (you can do this from just about anywhere that they build film just inquire for a proof sheet, no prints, unless of course you want them). The only other way I know of to get a scanner to perform with film negatives is to leave the cover open and scan them that way, this will cause a dilemma with some scanners but it seems to function okay as lengthy as you have a great photo editing system to adjust the colours back to wherever they are supposed to be.
